The Challenge: A Disconnected Patient Experience
Traditional healthcare is plagued by friction. Patients face a fragmented landscape where booking appointments, tracking medical history, and finding emergency care happen in siloes. This lack of digitization creates significant inefficiency and anxiety for users.
The Objective: To transform a disjointed process into a 360° digital ecosystem that reduces administrative overhead and empowers patients with immediate, location-based access to care.
The Strategy: Managing Complexity Under Stress
Designing a healthcare "Super App" presents a critical risk: Cognitive Overload. Users interacting with the app are often anxious, in pain, or in a rush. They cannot afford to navigate a cluttered interface.
The Pivot: We moved away from a flat feature list to a Segmented Information Architecture. We hypothesized that separating "Urgent Utility" from "Content Exploration" would significantly reduce the user's Time-to-Task.
The Fix: Visual Cues for Intuitive Navigation
To solve the cognitive load issue, I restructured the Home Screen into two distinct mental models, using visual hierarchy to guide behavior:
"Salamtak Guide" (Action-Mode): We utilized bold, high-contrast cards for utilitarian tasks (Hospitals, Labs, Radiology). This ensures users can spot and access urgent services instantly.
- "Salamtak Gate" (Discovery-Mode): We applied a cleaner, white-space-dominant UI for engagement features (Q&A, Consultations). This encourages relaxed browsing without distracting from urgent needs.
Omni-Channel Booking: We unified the care delivery model, allowing users to filter providers by rating and proximity, then choose their preferred medium: Clinic, Home Visit, or Telemedicine.
The Outcome: A Centralized Health Assistant
Salamtak successfully bridged the gap between patients and providers. By centralizing the user profile, we eliminated the need for physical paperwork—users now have a portable "Digital Medical Record" covering everything from prescriptions to invoices.
Key Wins:
Reduced Friction: Streamlined the booking flow to minimize steps from search to confirmation.
Increased Engagement: The Q&A platform successfully positions doctors as experts, driving retention beyond just sick visits.
Operational Clarity: Users can now distinguish between emergency tools and educational content in milliseconds.
